St. Paul’s National School ANNUAL ENROLMENT NOTICE in respect of admissions to the 2024/2025 school year

St. Paul’s Admission Policy complies with the requirements of the Education Act 1998, the Education (Admission to Schools) Act 2018 and the Equal Status Act 2000. In drafting this policy, the Board of Management of the school has consulted with school staff, the school patron and with parents of children attending the school.

If you completed an application form prior to the 1st of February, 2020 and have activated it, your application will be processed based on our current enrolment policy.

JUNIOR INFANTS - Application and Decision Dates for admission to 2024-2025

(These dates are applicable for admissions to Junior Infants only)

PART 1 – Admissions to the 2024/25 School Year

• The school will commence accepting applications for admission on 2nd of October, 2023. You cannot submit a form prior to this date. Forms must be dropped in person to the office.

• The school shall cease accepting applications for admission on 10th November, 2023 at 12 noon.

• The date by which applicants will be notified of the decision on their application is 24th November, 2023.

• The period within which applicants must confirm acceptance of an offer of admission is 6th December, 2023.


Number of places being made available in the Academic Year 2024/2025 is 63/66 places.

Note: the school will consider and issue decisions on late applications in accordance with the school’s Admission Policy.


Failure to accept an offer within the prescribed period above may result in the offer being withdrawn

Following acceptance of a place, the parent will be given the opportunity of discussing one to one any Special Educational Needs the child may have with either the Principal or Vice Principal. It is important that this discussion takes place to give the child the best start to school life and allow the school to apply for resources if the need arises.

The school will arrange for an Open Day/s with time slots to allow both the parent and child to visit the school and meet his/her teacher.

Prior to the Open Day the parent will be furnished with an information pack via email which will require each parent to provide the school with additional information e.g. emergency contact details, medical details etc., rules and regulations etc.,

PART 2 – Admissions to the 2023/24 School Year

Breakdown of Junior Infant places allocated for the 2023/24 school year

• Number of places accepted 61 (This included Siblings x 21, Staff x 1, Siblings of Past Pupils/Parents x 5)

• Waiting List Total = 17 (Local x 3 (all after closing date), Outside Parish x 14)




SENIOR INFANTS TO 6TH CLASS - Application and Decision Dates for admission to 2024-2025

To enrol your child in classes from Senior infants to Sixth class for the academic year 2024/2025 please complete an application form which you will find under ‘Enrolment Applications. Forms will only be accepted from October 2nd, 2023 onwards.

All sections must be completed and supporting documents attached, if not, then the application will not be processed. Each will be reviewed accordingly. You cannot submit a form prior to October 2nd, 2023. Applications for Senior Infants to 6th Class, Sept 2024 will not be reviewed until appox May/June 2024.

NOTE: Completing this application is neither an offer nor a guarantee of a place in St. Paul’s School.
